Sequence devoted to the TWISTS that we approach, taking care to enter the postures step by step.
To work the twists well, the basic principle is to maintain stability in the pelvis by fixing it to keep the hips at the same level and from this solid base, establish a central axis around which the body will rotate.
The twists are always done from the core using the internal lever muscles and then using the external lever muscles.
The front of the body should remain as long as the back of the body and the spine should stretch its entire length from the tailbone to the crown of the head, away from the occiput of the trapezius. The inspirations are used to lengthen the spine and we progress in the posture on the exhalations.
Twists aid digestion and elimination, which is why you should first turn to the right, to the ascending colon, and then to the left. This brings pressure and absorption action to the abdominal organs and when the twist is released fresh blood rushes in and soaks the area. They warm up and strengthen the muscles of the spine and therefore promote good posture and are very good preparatory and restorative postures for back extensions.
They are therapeutic for the back because they provide pressure and absorption to the intervertebral discs which helps keep them swelling and healthy and alleviates the compression of the spine associated with aging.
The twists make it possible to relativize personal problems and to better overcome the vagaries of life through better management of opposites and develop brain resources.
