EKA PADA RAJAKAPOTASANA IV

This sequence brings to an advanced posture EKA PADA RAJAKAPOTASANA IV the posture of the royal pigeon in variation with the rear leg.

This posture combines the benefits of the forward extensions for the leg which is stretched forward and at the same time those of the rearward extensions for the back leg, chest and shoulders.

This posture regenerates the lumbar and dorsal region of the spine by creating space across the entire front of the spine.

The neck and shoulder muscles are fully engaged and the position of the legs strengthens the entire contour of the thighs and ankles.

The thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal and sexual glands which receive a rich supply of blood thanks to their large back extension work properly which increases vitality. Mula bandha is reinforced thanks to the action of the front foot which is pulled towards the rear knee and not to sit in the flexibility of the hips and to keep the hips facing forward.

In this posture, the pubic area is properly supplied with blood which keeps it healthy.

This asana is recommended for disorders of the urinary system and to control the sexual urge.
