The SPRING season implies big changes in our life, it is a period where the days last longer and where we go out more. The body is very quickly tired by this difference in rhythm because the physical and mental systems do not have time to adapt. Spring is the season to release the emotions frozen in our bodies such as grief and sadness.
Spring has the effect on the body of making it more vigorous and its effect on the mind is to make the mind more stable. The elements Water and Earth are very present with some Fire. As far as the doshas are concerned, Kapha is aggravated and Pitta strongly accumulated.
To live this transition smoothly, in our class library you will find sequences of Regenerating Yoga and Hip Opening Yoga as an emotional detoxification.
June 21 is INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY! To mark this transition and to honor this day, we practice the powerful yogic ritual of the 108 sun salutations, dedicating the practice to the solar star, symbol of light, leading to the path of peace. During this season, energy is very present and fatigue can accumulate because we have this tendency to do too much.
During a part of the year, the distribution of the doshas (Pitta, Vata, Kapha) increases progressively as it is in the accumulation phase and then decreases. At the beginning of the summer, Pitta and Vata are in accumulation phase to be fully accumulated at the end of the summer. Summer has the effect on the body of making it firmer, more vigorous and ardent at the beginning of the season, only to dry up and become boiling hot at the end of the summer. At the beginning of summer, the mind is clear and at the end of summer the mind is angry, impatient and irritated.
The elements Fire and Water are very present during the whole season with the element Air coming at the end of the season.
FALL is here to bring us back to a more serious season by marking the end of the summer season and all its colors and warmth. It is the time when nature transforms itself to face winter, it is the time when we must take the time to prepare ourselves for winter. The season of autumn is visualized as a period of expiration, before the rest of winter and to take a deep breath in the spring. It is a season where we can admire the changes in colors, materials, temperatures.
During the autumn season, the body is in transition and this season has an effect on the mind of spite, fear and jealousy. The Vata dosha is aggravated while Kapha is accumulated. The elements Air and Water are the most present.
To cope with all these transformations and prepare our bodies, you will find in our course library sequences to strengthen our immunity, Yoga with targeted practices on Inversions and solar themed sequences for the Indian summer days.
WINTER is the season of rest, regeneration and introspection. However, we need to boost our immune system and our energy so that we don't stay completely down during this cold season. To do this, we must practice as much restful and regenerating yoga as dynamic.
The winter season has the effect on the body that it cools down and the mind becomes empty and anxious. The Vata dosha is aggravated while Kapha is strongly accumulated.
You will find everything you need for this in our sequence library!
