This sequence WAKES UP THE FIRE ELEMENT by linking dynamic postures, initiated and harmonized by breathing.
Fire represents intelligence, motivation, learning and is related to powerful and radical cleansing. Fire is starlight, lightning from a thunderstorm, a firefly or whatever is bright. In the diet it is spices and colored fruits. Its action is to warm, to purify, to transform and this element dominates at the level of the lower abdomen, center of digestion and determination.
Yogis are sun worshipers, we practice sun salutations to ignite the inner fire. These greetings warm up the body and create harmony with the breath, welcome the breath which is the sacred with the heart.
This creative sequence leads to being less focused on alignment but more on the art of moving with the breath, like a meditation in movements . The postures are linked without asking too much by working first one side of the body then the other. The body heats up quickly, breathing should be kept calm and deep throughout the practice. This freedom of movement makes the practice more accessible and less intimidating than styles of yoga that are more rigorous in postural alignments.
The fire created by perspiration internal cleansing helps eliminate toxins and get rid of impurities. It creates strength, endurance, flexibility and balance, sculpts and tones the silhouette and tones the heart muscle. Pauses can be taken by replacing the Adho mukha Svanasana (the downward dog pose) with an Adho Mukha Virasana (the stretched child pose).
The final relaxation provides immediate intense relaxation.
